Summer Camp

This year Circus Maine will offer two summer camp options, one at our Circus Maine facilities and the other with our partners at North Yarmouth Academy. Both camps will have a three day week in observance of July 4th as well as a trip to Circus Smirkus on the week of August 7th.

Our Circus Maine camp is for students aged 6 – 14 years old.  Our North Yarmouth Academy camp is for students aged 6-12 years old.  This summer program is designed for both beginner and intermediate students.  Intended to introduce your child to circus arts and hone their skills for performance.

Early bird rates last until April 15th.

Circus Maine is offering weekly summer circus arts training camps for students aged 6 – 14 years old at our Thompson’s Point facilities. Professional circus trainers are on hand to help every student find their path to the right apparatus.  Aerial silks, acrobatics, juggling, trampoline, human pyramids and performance techniques are just some of the apparatus students will have the opportunity to explore.

We recommend two back-to-back weeks, if at all possible, to give students a deeper immersion in circus arts training, and a chance to find their delight.  Students will be divided into smaller groups based on prior experience and ability; instructors will meet each individual at their own ability level, whether beginning, intermediate or advanced. Each student will receive individualized attention and enjoy the chance to personalize their training according to their goals. More advanced students will also have the opportunity to schedule private lessons throughout the summer.

Your kids will make astounding progress in a matter of days. Each session ends with an exhibition in the Circus Maine space that will be open to students’ family and friends. The Circus Maine Summer Training camp offers ideal physical conditioning and flexibility development and is also useful for dancers, gymnasts and student athletes who are hoping to deepen their training over the course of the summer.  Students with an interest in the theatre and drama will find circus arts useful for developing dramatic style and showmanship. This is an exciting, fun, and high-energy camp with an emphasis on achieving goals and taking training to the next level!

Campers ages 6-12 learned the finer points of tumbling, juggling, aerials, hula-hoops, clowning, and working on the silks and trapeze. The Big Top that is the NYA gymnasium hosted the big show on Friday afternoons where campers got to display their talents and new skills in front of family and friends. It’s truly amazing!
